The Wattpad Experience
It’s been a few months since Terminum hit Wattpad, and I promised you all an update on how things have been going!
We’ve laughed together;
We’ve cried together;
We’ve discussed life together;
We’ve been straight-up frustrated together;
We’ve speculated together;
And we’ve definitely favoured Roh together;
Most importantly, though, we’ve had so much fun together.
What a wonderful and humbling experience Wattpad has been, so far! Not only have I gotten to interact with my readers one-on-one, but I’ve also gotten to read their reactions to the story within the text.
I don’t think there’s any other platform like Wattpad, in that sense. I almost wish that all authors, both traditionally and non-traditionally published, would be afforded this opportunity. It’s one thing to put your story out into the world, and another thing entirely to experience it through someone else’s eyes as each event unfolds!
Thank you all for taking a chance on Terminum and for really engaging with it. I’m so grateful for the support.
A note to kind readers who suggested I submit for the Wattys (a yearly book award which honours stories published on Wattpad): I’ve indeed entered Terminum into the contest, however, one of the rules stipulates that the book mustn’t have been published elsewhere prior to their website. That being said, it’s unlikely Terminum will be eligible, but I’m trying my luck anyways!
I’m really looking forward to continuing to hear from readers as the months flash by, and rest assured that work on book two is indeed underway. In the meantime, I’m happy to provide little windows into the work that goes into the writing when the comments call for it.
Stay safe, everyone!
